Internship Role Overview

This remote internship is crafted for graduate students and final-year undergraduates who possess a keen interest in the dynamics of Indo-European relations. Interns will integrate into our project teams, contributing to ongoing research, content creation, and organizational initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience in a think-tank environment, working alongside experts and peers from diverse backgrounds.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria

To ensure a productive and mutually beneficial experience, we have established the following criteria for applicants:

  • Academic Standing: You must be a final-year undergraduate student or a graduate student (Master’s or Ph.D.) enrolled in a recognized university.

  • Field of Study: While open to all disciplines, primary preference will be given to candidates from Social Sciences backgrounds, including:

    • Political Science & International Relations

    • Economics

    • Sociology & Anthropology

    • History

    • Public Policy & Administration

    • Area Studies (European Studies, Asian Studies, etc.)

  • Core Competencies & Skills:

    • Analytical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to conduct research, synthesize information, and think critically about geopolitical and socio-economic issues.

    • Communication Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional European or Indo-European languages is a significant asset.

    • Digital Proficiency: Comfort with remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace), standard office software, and basic research databases.

    • Self-Motivation & Initiative: As a remote role, the ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and proactively seek guidance is crucial.

    • Cultural Sensitivity: A genuine interest in and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives, aligning with CIEC’s core mission of cooperation.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Objectives

As an intern at CIEC, you will be entrusted with meaningful tasks that contribute directly to our projects. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Research Support: Assisting in the compilation of literature reviews, data collection, and analysis for policy briefs, academic papers, or conference reports focused on Indo-European affairs.

  • Content Development: Contributing to our digital presence by drafting articles, blog posts, or social media content that translates complex research into accessible insights.

  • Event Coordination: Supporting the logistical and administrative planning for webinars, virtual conferences, and expert discussions.

  • Administrative Operations: Helping with the day-to-day functions that keep a think-tank running, which may include database management, newsletter preparation, and partner outreach.

  • Collaborative Projects: Participating in team meetings, offering fresh perspectives, and collaborating on cross-functional initiatives.
