Detailed Role Descriptions, Responsibilities, and Requirements

1. Electrical Engineer

Core Function: To ensure the design integrity, reliability, and optimization of the facility’s electrical power systems and equipment.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide engineering support for high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including power generation, distribution (switchgear, transformers), and motors.

    • Develop and manage electrical maintenance strategies, troubleshooting major faults, and implementing root cause analysis (RCA).

    • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and datasheets for new projects or system modifications.

    • Ensure all electrical work complies with Nigerian electricity regulations, IEC standards, and company safety policies.

    • Supervise contractors and coordinate with operations for planned shutdowns and energization activities.

  • Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry, with specific exposure to LNG being a significant advantage.

    • Professional certification with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) is mandatory.

    • Proficiency in electrical design software (ETAP, AutoCAD) and deep understanding of hazardous area classifications.

2. Electrical Technician

Core Function: To execute hands-on maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical equipment under the guidance of the Electrical Engineer.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and lighting networks.

    • Conduct thermographic surveys, insulation resistance tests, and relay testing.

3. HSE Supervisor

4. Civil Engineer (QA/QC)

Core Function: To oversee the quality assurance and control for all civil, structural, and architectural works on-site.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Inspect reinforced concrete works, structural steel, piling, foundations, and building finishes.

    • Review contractor method statements, material submittals, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).

5. Painting and Insulation Officer

Core Function: To supervise and ensure the quality of protective coating and insulation systems for pipes, vessels, and structures.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Inspect surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) and ambient conditions prior to painting.

    • Measure dry film thickness (DFT) and conduct adhesion tests.

    • Supervise the installation of thermal and acoustic insulation, ensuring proper jacketing and sealing.

6. Site Planning Engineer

    • Develop baseline schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, integrating all disciplines.

    • Monitor daily progress, update schedules, and identify critical path delays.

7. Instrumentation Engineer
