Position Focus: Senior Software Engineer – Game Development Platform

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Game Development Platform team, you will architect and build the core tools, services, and frameworks that empower our global studios to create next-generation gaming content faster and more efficiently. Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

Platform Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend services and APIs that form the foundation of our shared game development platform. This includes systems for asset management, player data simulation, build orchestration, and live operations tooling.

Developer Experience Optimization: Create intuitive SDKs, libraries, and development tools that abstract complexity and accelerate game development cycles for internal studios worldwide. Your success is measured by developer adoption and satisfaction.

Cross-Studio Collaboration: Work directly with game engineering teams across Sydney, Las Vegas, Bangalore, and other global hubs to understand their pain points, gather requirements, and iterate on platform solutions that solve real-world development challenges.

Performance and Reliability Engineering: Ensure all platform services meet stringent requirements for low-latency, high-availability, and fault tolerance, capable of supporting a global, 24/7 live operations environment.

Required Qualifications and Expertise
Technical Competencies (Mandatory)

Professional Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining complex, high-traffic backend systems.

Core Programming Proficiency: Expert-level skills in C# and .NET Core/.NET 6+ and/or Java ecosystems. Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and data structures.

Cloud-Native Development: Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure strongly preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable) including services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services, Cosmos DB/SQL DB, and Service Bus.

API & Microservices Architecture: Deep experience in building RESTful and gRPC APIs, and implementing distributed systems using microservices principles. Knowledge of API gateways and service meshes is advantageous.

Data & Database Mastery: Proficiency with both SQL (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., Redis, Cosmos DB) databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and caching strategies.

DevOps & Automation Mindset: Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (Application Insights, Datadog).
