About the Role: The Heart of the Guest Experience

The Restaurant Service Crew is more than a waiter or waitress; you are an ambassador of the restaurant’s brand and a crucial component of its daily operations. Your primary mission is to ensure seamless, efficient, and gracious service from the moment a guest arrives until they depart. In this visa-sponsored role, you will gain invaluable international experience in service standards, operational procedures, and multicultural customer engagement that is highly valued globally.

Detailed Key Responsibilities & Duties

Your daily activities will be diverse and guest-focused, including:

  • Guest Service & Engagement: Warmly welcome, seat, and attend to guests. Present menus, provide knowledgeable recommendations on food and beverages, and answer queries about ingredients and preparation.

  • Order Management: Accurately take and input food and drink orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system. Clearly communicate orders and special requests to the kitchen and bar teams.

  • Food & Beverage Delivery: Serve dishes and drinks correctly, following established service protocols. Ensure timely delivery of courses and check on guest satisfaction throughout the meal.

  • Table & Station Maintenance: Reset tables efficiently, maintain a clean and organized dining area and service station. Ensure all cutlery, glassware, and linens meet presentation standards.

  • Payment Processing: Handle cashless and cash transactions accurately at the point of sale. Process bills, provide change, and issue receipts promptly.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other service crew to ensure synchronized service. Assist colleagues during peak periods to maintain overall service flow.

  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all local food hygiene and safety standards (Singapore’s NEA guidelines). Follow company policies regarding service, grooming, and attendance.

To set realistic expectations, it is important for applicants to understand the common passes for service roles:

  1. Work Permit: For semi-skilled workers, typically with source country restrictions and employer-specific levies. Has salary and sector-based requirements.

  2. S Pass: For mid-skilled staff who meet minimum salary thresholds (e.g., at least SGD $3,150 as of latest revisions) and have acceptable qualifications/experience. Subject to quota and levy.
