Who We Are: A Global Leader in Management Consulting

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we work closely with clients to embrace a transformational approach aimed at benefiting all stakeholders—empowering organizations to grow, build sustainable competitive advantage, and drive positive societal impact. Our success is built on a foundation of deep industry expertise, functional knowledge, and proprietary digital tools, delivered through our global network of offices.

Our work is organized around core practice areas, including but not limited to:

  • Strategy & Transformation: Helping CEOs set corporate direction, transform business models, and drive sustainable growth.

  • Digital, Technology & Analytics: Guiding clients through digital transformation, advanced analytics, AI, and technology-driven innovation.

  • Climate & Sustainability: Partnering with organizations to decarbonize, build circular economies, and integrate ESG into core strategy.

  • People & Organization: Redefining the future of work, culture, and organizational design to unlock human potential.

  • Operations: Optimizing supply chains, manufacturing, and service operations for resilience, efficiency, and customer centricity.

The Opportunity: The Consultant Role

We are hiring for Consultant-level positions (the entry point for advanced degree holders—MBA, PhD, JD, MD, etc.) and Associate positions (the entry point for outstanding undergraduate and Master’s graduates). In this role, you will be embedded in small, diverse case teams working on 3-6 month projects for a single client. Your responsibilities will evolve rapidly as you build your consulting toolkit.

A typical project cycle involves:

  1. Problem Framing: Working with the team and client to define the core question and scope of the project.

  2. Hypothesis-Driven Analysis: Conducting research, data analysis, financial modeling, and interviews to test hypotheses and uncover insights.

  3. Synthesis & Storytelling: Distilling complex findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations.

  4. Client Engagement: Presenting findings to mid-senior level client executives and helping to drive implementation.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple industries (e.g., Technology, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Consumer Goods, Industrial Goods) and practice areas, shaping a unique career path based on your interests and strengths.

Key Responsibilities: What You Will Do

As a Consultant or Associate at BCG, you will be expected to:

  • Master Problem-Solving: Deconstruct ambiguous, complex business problems into manageable components and develop structured, logical approaches to solve them.

  • Conduct Rigorous Analysis: Generate insights through quantitative analysis, financial modeling, market research, and expert interviews. Move beyond data description to provide actionable “so what” conclusions.

  • Communicate with Impact: Craft persuasive, executive-ready written documents and presentations. Communicate your ideas clearly and confidently in team and client settings.

  • Collaborate Intensely: Work as a core member of a case team, contributing your unique perspective while building on the ideas of others. Foster a collegial and high-performing team environment.

  • Develop Client Relationships: Build trust with client team members through professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to their success.

  • Manage Your Learning & Growth: Proactively seek feedback, synthesize lessons from each case, and rapidly build your business acumen and consulting skills.
