Who We Are: A Global Force for Change

MenEngage Alliance is not just an organization; it is a transformative global network. We represent the world’s largest civil-society community dedicated to engaging men and boys in the pursuit of gender equality, justice, and dignity for all people.

Our alliance spans hundreds of non-governmental organizations and individuals across more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe. We operate at multiple levels—from grassroots community initiatives to influencing high-level international policy at the United Nations. Our work is rooted in a feminist, anti-patriarchal perspective, recognizing that to achieve a just world, we must transform harmful masculinities, challenge power structures, and promote positive, healthy, and equitable forms of being men and boys.

We believe that gender justice is not a women’s issue; it is a human issue. And we are looking for a strategic and passionate communicator to help us amplify this message across the globe.

Your Mission: Amplify Impact Through Strategic Storytelling

We are hiring a Communications Officer to be the engine of our narrative power. This is a pivotal role where you will be the bridge bet-the-ground work and the global conversation on gender justice.

Your primary mission will be to tap into the collective wisdom of our global alliance to craft compelling, impactful, and strategic communications content. You will not just report on our work; you will frame it, elevate it, and ensure it resonates with diverse audiences—from activists and policymakers to donors and the general public. You will be responsible for managing our core communications channels, developing key messaging, and ensuring our brand voice is consistent, powerful, and authentic.

This role is for a creative and critical thinker who understands that communication is a strategic tool for social change.

Key Responsibilities: Where You Will Make a Difference

As our Communications Officer, your work will be dynamic and multifaceted. Your core responsibilities will include:

1. Content Creation & Story Curation:

  • Research and Develop compelling written, visual, and multimedia content for various platforms, including websites, social media, newsletters, and annual reports.

  • Translate Complex Ideas into accessible and engaging language for a broad audience without losing the nuance of our feminist and anti-oppressive principles.

  • Spotlight Impact by identifying powerful stories of change from our member organizations and partners around the world.

  • Draft and Edit key external documents, including press releases, op-eds, statements, and fundraising appeals.

2. Digital Platform & Social Media Management:

  • Manage and Grow our main social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) with a strategic content calendar.

  • Oversee the Global Website, ensuring content is up-to-date, SEO-optimized, and user-friendly.

  • Analyze Engagement Metrics to understand what resonates with our audience and refine strategies accordingly.

  • Produce and Edit simple graphics and short videos to enhance our digital storytelling.

3. Media Relations & Public Engagement:

  • Cultivate Relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers interested in gender justice, human rights, and civil society.

  • Draft and Distribute press materials and proactively pitch stories to secure media coverage.

  • Monitor Media Landscape for relevant trends, news, and opportunities for MenEngage Alliance to contribute to public discourse.

4. Brand Stewardship & Internal Communications:

  • Uphold and Evolve our brand guidelines, ensuring visual and tonal consistency across all communications and materials.

  • Support Internal Communications by helping to create updates, newsletters, and resources for our global membership and staff.

  • Act as a Resource for member organizations, providing communications support and amplifying their work through our global channels.
